    Amalfi coast

    Jane's verdict:

There’s something deliciously romantic about the Amalfi Coast. This honeymoon classic still rocks the glamour of Sophia Loren and the flavours of a gelato with limoncello! Picture yourselves in an open-topped car, taking in the views from those clifftop coastal roads, exploring implausibly pretty towns such as Positano and Ravello, and staying in elegant hotels bursting with character. Bellissimo!

    Classic Collection Holidays says

The Amalfi Coast is one of our favourite spots in Italy – think spectacular hillside towns, charming harbours, stylish shopping, atmospheric bars and superb Neapolitan cuisine. It simply oozes romance and glamour at every turn with fabulous hotels to match.

    • Private beaches
    • Romantic hotels
    • Superb food

We’ve highlighted some of our honeymoon favourites but you can find our full collection of hotels on the Amalfi Coast here.

Boasting its own private beach, Casa Angelina is one of those rare hotels that combines clean, contemporary design with classic hospitality. Located above the pretty village of Praiano, there’s a gourmet restaurant, a pool, spa and all-white guest rooms and suites which are the epitome of understated luxury. For a special treat, we highly recommend upgrading to the “Eaudesea” converted fishermen’s cottages by the beach.

Villa Franca is located above Positano and has a more Mediterranean feel. Dinner under the stars on the hotel’s terrace is breathtaking, with spectacular views of the twinkling lights of the entire Amalfi coast.

If you like your hotel to come packed with a unique sense of history, Convento di Amalfi is the perfect choice. Formerly a monastery dating back to the 12th Century, it’s been sensitively converted into a grand and contemporary bolthole in the town of Amalfi.

There are just 20 rooms at the intimate Monastero Santa Rosa. The infinity pool and terraced gardens are all perched on the cliff edge – it is a truly spectacular setting for a hotel with a very special atmosphere.

The elegant Palazzo Avino arguably offers the best of all worlds. It’s tucked away on the edge of the hilltop village of Ravello – with incredible views from the rooms, pool and gardens – and it also has its own exclusive beach club, a complimentary 15-minute shuttle ride away. The hotel’s Rossellini restaurant has a Michelin star too – foodie heaven.
