Stylish Croatia

Jane's verdict:

I’m in no doubt that Croatia should be on everyone’s honeymoon hot list. It’s one of those 'under the radar' destinations that’s got it all, and is fast becoming an affordable rival to St Tropez. Completely Croatia has the inside track whether you want to discover historic cities such as Dubrovnik, hide away on a tiny traffic-free island or explore the countryside by Ferrari.

Completely Croatia says

As you might guess from our name, we only offer holidays to Croatia and we know it inside out. We’ve found the best places and, specifically with honeymooners in mind, negotiated some great deals and special touches.

Hvar Town is funky, fun and fashionable with excellent restaurants and cool bars. We recommend you stay close by at the four star Hotel Podstine. The town is a gentle 20-minute stroll away but the hotel itself is blissfully peaceful, nestled into the hillside above the waterfront with amazing views from the terraced bar. Our honeymooners receive a complimentary room upgrade (subject to availability), a bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival and a complimentary trip to the dreamy Pakleni Islands.

For five star luxury, we recommend the Hotel More. It has just 35 rooms with panoramic views across Lapad Bay and the Elaphiti Islands and a lovely sun and pool terrace. As well as a complimentary room upgrade (subject to availability), honeymooners also receive fruit upon arrival, a candlelit welcome drink in the cool Cave Bar and a complimentary walking tour of the atmospheric Dubrovnik Old Town. Our favourite touch – you can rent a Ferrari or Aston Martin for the day and head off to explore in style!

A honeymoon on a traffic-free island is as romantic and special as you might imagine. Villa Vilina is a four star family-run hotel on the traffic free island of Lopud. You’ll arrive by private water taxi to a complimentary welcome drink and there’s also a walking tour of Dubrovnik Old Town thrown in.

If small is your idea of beautiful, we also recommend the Hotel Bozica on peaceful Sipan Island.
