Your honeymoon kicks off in the atmospheric, colonial city of Antigua in Guatemala. Stay in the luxurious Posada del Angel with plenty of time to kick back and explore the cobbled streets, boutiques and restaurants as you please.
Next stop is the boutique Casa Palopo, right on the edge of Lake Atitlan. Soak up the views of the lake and volcanoes beyond and take to the water on a boat trip to the traditional town of Santiago Atitlan.
It’s jungle next, in the shape of two nights in La Lancha Lodge, founded by Francis Ford Coppola and a luxurious base from which to explore Lake Peten, the Tikal Mayan ruins (the best in the region) and the jungle canopy.
You may not want to leave Guatemala but zip lining, cave tubing, canoeing, horse-riding and some of the region’s best cuisine await at your next port of call in Belize – the Ka’ana Boutique Resort and Spa, located on the edge of verdant rainforest. We’ve even thrown in a complimentary massage.
