Recommended place to stay: Necker Island
Necker Island says
Special announcement - on 22nd August 2011 a fire broke out at the Great House on Necker Island, completing destroying the building and its 8 rooms and suites. Fortunately no one was injured, but the damage was substantial. However, it is business as usual - Necker Island can cater for slightly smaller groups to stay on island with the newly refurbished six Bali Houses, as well as Sir Richard Branson’s private home Temple House and his 105ft luxury catamaran Necker Belle, to substitute for the bedrooms lost in the Great House.
We’re pleased to say that plans are already in motion to restore the Great House to its former glory (with some new and innovative Virgin touches of course).
For the ultimate honeymoon, hire Sir Richard Branson’s private island paradise in the British Virgin Islands for up to 28 family and friends. If you don’t fancy hiring the entire island and its 60 staff all to yourselves, Necker Island hosts a number of Celebration Weeks each year when couples can book one of the 14 rooms.
Surrounded by turquoise waters in this unspoilt area of the Caribbean, Necker is blessed with white, sandy beaches, beautiful coral reefs and wildlife from pink flamingoes to tortoises.
The Great House is the hub of the island with fabulous panoramic views, especially from the Master Suite which features a private outdoor Jacuzzi and bath. Necker Island also has six romantic Balinese-style houses dotted around the island.
There are two infinity pools as well as a team of watersports instructors who can teach you how to wakeboard, kite surf or take you out on a hobie cat. Add to that tennis courts, a gym and snooker table – we’ve got all the toys and games if you’re active types.
If lying back and being pampered is more your style, hit the Bali Leha spa, and indulge in the best of cuisine prepared by our chefs. Ask us for your favourite dish, or just let us impress you and leave the decisions up to us.
All meals and drinks including fine champagne as well as the various watersports on offer are included; a week costs around £16,500 per couple excluding flights.

Sir Richard Branson famously bought Necker Island for a song and built it up to be one of the world's most exclusive private islands. Hire the entire island with friends and family or book a room just for the two of you during a ‘Celebration Week’. Adrenaline junkies will find all the toys from kite surfing to Necker Nymph, a mini-submarine.
