We’ve had some great media coverage since we launched 101 Honeymoons in May 2010. Here’s a selection of some of our awards and favourite press clippings.

Finalist, Best UK Website of the Year, Travel Press Awards, November 2010

“The website both looks beautiful, and is beautifully simple. It is constructed around a grid of 101 images: hover over one, and up pops a summary of the holiday. Click through and you get more detail, including Jane’s verdict, and information from the holiday company on what’s on offer and how to book.

“Also, the variety of holidays is fantastic. Much more is on offer than just traditional flop-by-the-beach options (though there are plenty of them too) – anything from a UK break in a retro VW campervan, to diving in the Cayman Islands, India by luxury train, and a Kenyan safari.

“You can narrow down what you’re looking for by price, location and what you want (buzzing nightlife, a fabulous spa, to view wildlife etc), as well as by saying what you’re like (eg culture fiends, sporty, bone idle).

“I also like the quiz. By answering 10 multiple choice questions – including what’s on your iPod when you travel, and what sunglasses you wear – Jane comes up with a selection of suitable honeymoons.”

“Two former Sunday Times travel writers, Mark Hodson and David Wickers, have founded 101holidays.co.uk, moving beyond the user-generated reviews of many travel sites to offer the kind of quality writing that is the product of four decades of exploring the world for a living. Just over a year after launch, 101 Holidays has a spin-off site, 101 Short Breaks, and is about to unveil 101 Honeymoons.”

- Ian Burrell, Media Editor, The Independent, April 2010

“Like the other sites in the 101 series the layout is colourful and easy to use. A collage of 101 images sits on the homepage; simply hover or click on one to get more information…

“In a world where user generated content is swamping the web, 101Honeymoon proudly declares to contain none at all, instead it’s all about expert recommendation…

“101Honeymoons is a superb source of inspiration, ideas and advice for those soon to say ‘I do’.”

“Thanks to funky new website, 101 honeymoons, you can now add choosing your honeymoon destination to your list of pain-free planning.

The team that brought you the brilliant 101 holidays and 101 short breaks is back, and their new baby, 101 honeymoons, is overseen by former Travel Editor at You & Your Wedding and all-round honeymoon expert, Jane Anderson.

Using a natty search facility with keywords like ‘buzzing nightlife’ and ‘sheer luxury’, 101 honeymoons will recommend the best tour operator for your kinda trip, regardless of budget or interests. Everyone’s catered for – all you need to do is choose your personality type from ‘adventurers’, ‘eco-warriors’, ‘fashionistas’,  ‘culture fiends’, ‘foodies’, ‘sporty’ and the ‘bone idle.’

Also on offer is an interactive multiple choice quiz to help couples track down their perfect honeymoon, plus detailed advice about how to plan a honeymoon and get married abroad.”
