    South Africa and Mauritius

    Jane's verdict:

What an incredible way to start married life. The buzz of Cape Town with its iconic Table Mountain and nearby winelands contrasts wonderfully with the adventure of spotting the Big Five on safari. And what better place to unwind than Mauritius, renowned for its pampering hospitality. An odyssey that’s bound to cement your vows.

Africa is a great choice for a romantic adventure. With breathtaking landscapes, outstanding food and legendary game reserves, there are few countries that can beat South Africa’s variety of attractions and high standards of hospitality. Round it up with a week spent on the picture-perfect beaches of Mauritius and you have a wonderful honeymoon.

    • Perfect combination
    • Spectacular locations
    • Year-round sunshine

After flying into Johannesburg you will be whisked to the Sabi Sand Game Reserve for a three-night safari at the intimate Cheetah Plains where the welcome is almost as legendary as the ‘Big Five’ animal spotting. Offering game drives when the wildlife is most active, in the early morning and late afternoon, you can expect to see a whole host of animals including buffalo, elephants, hippos and of course the magnificent big cats – cheetahs, lions and leopards.

From here you will head for three nights in cosmopolitan Cape Town. One of the most beautiful cities in the world, it offers a near endless choice of activities. Some of our favourites are trekking to the top of Table Mountain for spectacular views of the city, visiting the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden for the rich and diverse flora and sampling the delicious seafood, coffee and wine in the city’s fine restaurants. You will then spend two nights in Stellenbosch, an historic town that makes an excellent base for exploring the Winelands region.

From Cape Town you fly to Mauritius for seven nights in the elegant all-inclusive hotel, Paradise Cove. An adult-only resort on the island’s north coast in a tropical garden leading to a private beach, the Paradise Cove is a secluded, intimate, romantic place to escape and enjoy the start of your married life together.
