Built as a castle in the 12th century, this fine hotel is a classic hideaway with the highest standards of unobtrusive service.
The 36 air-conditioned rooms and suites are dotted throughout the extensive grounds and are all individually decorated. Some have an outdoor Jacuzzi and all have magnificent views.
For a hotel with so few rooms to boast no less than four restaurants is indicative of the importance placed on great food. The main restaurant has two Michelin stars; there’s also the open-air terrace, the Grill du Château in Eze and La Voile d’Azur in nearby Villefranche-sur-Mer.
Spectacular terraced gardens pave the way to a heated swimming pool and there are plenty of hidden places tucked away with jaw-dropping views over the Mediterranean and St Jean Cap Ferrat.
Whilst it’s hard to imagine from the tranquility within, the château is an integral part of the charming mediaeval village of Eze where the traffic free streets are lined with little shops selling local gifts and crafts.
