Tall ships cruise

Jane's verdict:

It’s all aboard Star Clippers’ handsome vessels for a ship-shape honeymoon evoking the era of Captain Cook. Whether you want to laze on deck under fluttering white sails or help with the rigging, you’ll feel like you’re discovering new worlds as you stop at intimate ports of call which the big cruise liners simply can’t reach.

Star Clippers says

Create honeymoon memories to last a lifetime and enjoy romantic and unforgettable sailing on board one of the world’s most head-turning tall ships.

  • Summer in the Med
  • Unique experience
  • Winter in Caribbean

Relax together in the bowsprit net, where dolphins can often be spotted swimming alongside the ship, and lay hand in hand beneath inky black skies on the teak decks. Share a sun-downer together in the Tropical Bar and spend long days, sailing beneath thousands of feet of billowing sails, waking up each day in a beautiful wood-lined cabin to the sound of lapping waves.

We can also arrange an on board marriage blessing by the captain, in the presence of a uniformed crew, champagne and flowers in your cabin and a celebration dinner.

Star Clippers operates fully-crewed sailing voyages on board three magnificent tall ships, cruising the Mediterranean, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Caribbean.

Our ships drop anchor alongside some of the world’s most picturesque bays, villages, ports and harbours, often inaccessible to larger vessels.

European voyages include the idyllic Greek islands, the magnificent and scenic route from Venice to Rome, via Slovenia, Croatia, Greece and Sicily, and sailings along the French Riviera and Italy’s coast and islands.

In the Caribbean, our head-turning fleet sails between palm-fringed beaches, cosmopolitan resorts and the bustling harbours of the region’s many tropical islands. If you wish, you can join beach barbecues, deck-top sundowners and water sports organised by the ship’s crew.

And for those with a thirst for the exotic, take a sailing in Asia or Indonesia where you can enjoy pink and golden sandy beaches, exotic wildlife, birds and sea-creatures, take excursions to see breath-taking natural sights such as waterfalls and volcanoes, and participate in scuba diving and other shore side activities.

Cruises start from just £585 per person for a three-night short cruise and £1,255 per person for a week including breakfast, lunch and dinner (excludes port charges).

Special honeymoon packages include the option of an on-board blessing by the captain, flowers and champagne on arrival.
